Composition: Introduction

Extensive composing – organ pieces (larger compositions and choral preludes), choir and orchestra pieces:

  • 1989 in assignment to the National commission for church music during the Evangelical Church convention in Berlin: The 90th Psalm. In publication: "9 Choralvorspiele und Miniaturen aus dem 90. Psalm", Strube Verlag (publishing house), München, Germany, Ed. Nr. 3069
  • 1991 commissioned composition for the German Evangelical Church conference in the region of Dortmund/Ruhrgebiet: Apostolicum XX (for 4-voices-Choir, Brass, Piano, Keyboard and Bass)
  • In publication: "Apostolicum XX", Strube Verlag, Ed. Nr. 1248
  • 1993 Mass in C-minor (Choir S,A,T,B, 2 Soloists: Sopran and Tenor, Orchestra). Premiere performance on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the Nathanael church.
  • Advent and Christmas songs in Jazz-Form (for Choir).
  • In publication: "Advents- und Weihnachtslieder im Jazz-Gewande", Strube Verlag, Ed. Nr. 1342
  • After 6 years of work on the Jesus Oratorium, derived from a gospel harmony from the new universal (Einheits-) translation of the Bible, arranged by the Rev. Thomas Lübke, Berlin (approx. 5 hours). Premiere performance of the first part (4–5 parts) on September 23, 2006 in the Nathanael church (extract go to audio »). The second part was performed premiere on March 31, 2007, the third part on October 13, 2007. The premiere performance of the fourth part is planned for April 12, 2008, and of the fifth part for October 11, 2008.
  • In publication: 10 organ movements of new sacred songs, included in the music book: "Neue Töne" (New tones), Strube Verlag, Ed. Nr. 3223
  • In publication: "Blue Sax" – 10 jazz-miniatures for saxophone and organ, Strube Verlag (2005), Ed. Nr. 3242

  • In addition, since 1988, under the encouragement of the regional church music director in Berlin-Brandenburg, Christian Schlicke (until 2002), I have been working on parallel fugues to J. S. Bach’s "Kunst der Fuge" (the Art of the Fugue). These can be played separately, but also simultaneously with Bach’s original as an 8-part counterpoint.
